College English Composition II (ENG 102)

ENG 106  College Composition II  3 Credits   A one- semester course emphasizing development of college-level writing skills. In ENG 101, students write multi-paragraph essays, learning the importance of thesis, topic sentence and paragraph development, along with how purpose and audience control the focus of the idea. During ENG 102, students continue to work on multi-paragraph themes, including the persuasive essay and the research paper. A minimum grade of "C" is required for each course. Prerequisite: ENG 101 with a minimum final grade of "C". A writing proficiency examination is administered as a requirement for exiting ENG 102.
