YEAR 1 – FOUNDATIONAL STUDIES: This course introduces the historical, philosophical, and professional foundations of counseling psychology. Students explore the roles and functions of professional counselors, counseling settings, professional identity, ethical standards, and contemporary issues in the field. Emphasis is placed on counselor self-awareness, professional development, and evidence-based practice. (3-Credits)
